Dr E.J. Sternglass has erupted again, this time in a report on the strontium content of milk near nuclear power plants, an analysis doubtlessly destined to become a classic of the occult. For a comparison with the actually measured data, write C.R. Doughty, Nuclear Information, NE Utilities, Box 270, Hartford, CT 06101.
Among the most exasperating falsehoods spread by the antinukes is the alleged wealth at the disposal of nuclear supporters, which the poor critics cannot match. The truth is the exact opposite. It is the anti nuclear organizations that have budgets in the hundreds of thousands, and sometimes in the millions, while nuclear power is defended by nobody except a handful of scientists who must dig into their own pockets for transportation, postage, or any other expense they incur - always in their spare time, for they do not have full time lawyers paid for abusing the legal process or any other activity. Typically, a recently formed grassroots organization of scientists and engineers to inform members of Congress on matters of nuclear power was unable to get financial support from the American Nuclear Society, which cannot go beyond its strictly scientific and educational activities. (The anti nuclear wreckers are tax-exempt, and often taxpayer subsidized.) So the scientists' wives and children are now stuffing envelopes and running very short of money for postage and printing. If you despise the antinukes' callous hypocrisy, please send your contribution to Nucl. Legisl. Advisory Serv., Box 354, Murrysville, PA 15668.
The Health Hazards of Not Going Nuclear rated a full page of (very favorable) review in the Swiss daily Der Bond on Feb. 2.
The British J. Inst. Nucl. Eng. writes "it is worth the money for its dedication alone, if nothing else. Regrettably, your reviewer dares not repeat it in print until the libel laws are changed." So until the British libel laws are changed, here it is: To Ralph Nader and all who worship the water he walks on.
