NUCLEAR NOTES

1) What rejected the Maine antinuclear referendum by a wide margin was the record turnout of voters: The kooks can only win when the others do not care. Thanks to all who answered our call for help¾they have now been richly rewarded.

2) Economics Prof. Kenneth Boulding of the Univ. of Colo., sometimes considered "Father of the peace movement," shocked many of his followers by stating "The anti-nuclear people have ruined the peace movement... I don't understand why people are so superstitious about the nuclear industry..." His Denver lecture of 14 Sept. 80 made national news (UPI wire), but was strictly censored by most campus newspapers, including that of his own university.

3) Once again ABC brought a documendacity¾"The Uranium Factor" on mining in New Mexico, but once again their game is exposed in a rebuttal on video tape. Uranium¾Fact or Fiction, produced by New Mexico's admirable pro-energy grassroot organization AREA, runs 49 minutes; $80 for ¾" tape, $60 for ½", $10 for loan, $2 for transcript, from AREA, Box 11802, Albuquerque, NM 87192, (505) 294-2069.
