1) UNICEF cards? The money for them often goes to terrorist governments, without any monitoring whether it reaches any children. Among the neediest children, surely, are those of the Boat People
¾a dreadful indictment of those who assured us that defeat in Viet Nam would not mean a blood bath. Contributions can be sent to Rescue Now, 58 Sutter, 3rd floor, San Francisco, CA 94104, or directly to Refugee Affairs, Hong Kong Red Cross, Anne Black Bldg., Harcourt Rd., Hong Kong.2) Geothermal Energy as a Source of Electricity by Prof. DiPippo (370 pp.) is excellent and well worth $6; stock no. 061-000-00390-8, Govt. Printing Off., Washington, DC 20402.
3) Solar Energy Map in the US and Southern Canada with degree days, etc., 46 by 28 ins., in color. $10.50 ppd. ($11 unfolded) from EnMap, Box 4430, Boulder, CO 80306.

Graves, shows that reprocessing prevents proliferation. $1 from AREA, Box 11802, Albuquerque, NM 87192.
5) An amazing new newsletter, The Duck Book, costs only $10 for the lifetime of its publisher Robert White; on up to 48 pages an issue, it brings excerpts from other newsletters interspersed with the publisher's own unique comments. 7) The big news: At long last, there is an index for Access to Energy, covering the first 7 years (Sept. 1973 through Aug. 1980, tiny sample above), compiled by Miss Elizabeth Mudge, who made a superb job of it. Alas, production of the small edition proved painfully costly, and Golem Press (Box 1342, Boulder, CO 80306) must charge $12 for the 92-page book.
8) The bad news: A price increase. Only our typesetter and printer still slaves for zero wages; paper, postage, everything else has gone up. We have not increased our price for 2 years (the $3 increase last year only paid for 1st class postage when 2nd class became virtually unusable). So we must go to $18/year ($25 for overseas subscriptions, by air mail only). Of course, the price remains $1 in pre-1964 silver coins, and you know what? In 1973 we charged $6, which was more than two silver dollars then. So think of us as having cut the price in half over seven years.
9) Gift subscriptions with a card in your name at no extra charge.
Current issue sent by 1st class within 2 or 3 days.
10) Holiday greetings from each and every member of our staff! (And from his dog, too.)
