GOOD READING

1) The best review yet of the World and National Councils of Churches (which are deep into anti-nuclear propaganda): "Sanctifying Revolution" by R.J. and E. Isaac, American Spectator, May 81; soon to be available for $1 from Ethics & Publ. Policy Cntr., 1211 Conn. Ave NW, Wash., DC 20036. Do not miss this enlightening piece on radical churches ("The Sword is my Shepherd...").

2) "Global 2000 Report to the President" was prepared for Carter by Gus Speth who called on a circle of such experts as Paul Ehrlich's wife Anne, Mr. and Mrs. (The Limits to Growth) Meadows, and the like. It is surely not worth reading, but the review "Globaloney 2000" by H. Kahn and E. Schneider in the Spring 1981 Policy Review certainly is. Especially for the voters of California: Sen. Cranston, reporting to them in April 1981, calls it "an authoritative and disturbing new government document."

3) "De-industrializing the Future" by J.P. Martino, The Freeman, May 1981. (This monthly is obtainable for a voluntary donation from FEE, Irvington-on-Hudson, N-Y 1053.)

4) Midnight Economist: Broadcast Essays, $1.55 from Green Hill Publ., Box 738, Ottawa, IL 61350 (was published just after we recommended a single essay last month).

5) What Phil Gramm (who led the Democratic rebels to vote for Reagan's budget) left behind is the Center for Free Enterprise, Texas A&M University, College Station, TX 77843, and its excellent bimonthly Pathfinder (free).
