A lot more than we have space for. First and foremost, you can inform yourself and others. Misinformation and disinformation is the root of all symptoms of the cancer now spreading through the Free World. In importance it has only one serious rival: indifference.
You do not separate information from misinformation by parroting this rather than that. You go by reason, evidence, logic and experience; not by authority, inclination, popularity or conformity. For example, you should reject the "nuclear winter" not because its authors are lefties, but because its energy balance is laughably out of whack
¾as you can easily ascertain yourself.Picking the "right" organizations to join and support is not easy; contact Fort Freedom's operations room for some hints. A sound proposal of how to enhance the effectiveness of existing groups devoted to the survival of freedom has recently been made by Elizabeth Mudge (compiler of the AtE Cumulative Index
¾a retired lady, but younger than all of us). Send a selfaddressed, stamped (27 cents) envelope to A+, 102 Hilltop Place, New London, NH 03257.Mother Jones, ABC, PBS, and the other brainwashers do not need KGB funds; they are lavishly supported by Exxon, Mobil and Preparation H
¾ by advertising or even by direct subsidy. Don't waste time on the boob toob boobs; let the advertisers know how frequently you will buy their product and how fervently you will recommend it to others. For example, you will find the names and addresses of the Day After advertisers in the Rathole of Fort Freedom. The list includes Commodore computers and Coca-Cola.
In the horrorama, cars on the Kansas roads stop because their ignition is permanently disabled by EMP (Electromagnetic Pulse). It should be clear from our previous discussion [Jul 82] -- and we plan to return to it
¾that the idea of EMP disabling cars unconnected to the power net with the ignition (semi conductor or not) under a metal hood is absurd. Are Commodore's computer engineers as stupid as their PR men? Perhaps not, but why should you have to check it out? As hundreds of computer companies try to survive under pressure from IBM's PC, there are now hundreds of excellent computer bargains. But thousands of people will buy Commodore computers anyway, you may say. Let them. You have to live only with yourself.
As for Coca-Cola, a now defunct magazine in the 1960s reported on its composition in an article "Coca-Cola: the drink for people who hate their own guts." In those days libel laws were not what they are now, nor were the courts as hostile to business. But Coca-Cola did not sue. All the magazine got was a letter from a truck driver reporting that out on the road, if everything else failed for unwrenching a rusty lug on a wheel, a bottle of Coke poured over it would always do the trick.
But isn't Pepsi-Cola, with its Soviet connections, worse?
Then drink plain water, if you must, man. There are worse horrors in this world than quenching your thirst without belching.
