GOOD READING

1.) Midnight Economist: Broadcast Essays VIII by UCLA economics professor William R. Allen ($1.80 from IIER, Westwood Center/#844, 1100 Glendon Ave, Los Angeles, CA 90024) is the latest in this superb series. The "Midnight Economist" is now regularly broadcast over 37 radio stations. Can you get him on your local station (2-3 minutes a day, no cost)? They will not get anything better.

2.) International Journal of World Peace ($10 for 4 issues/year, Box 1311, New York, N-Y 10116) is not what might think from the title; its first issue includes a very good article by Sir Ernest Titterton (Australia) on "The fallacies of nuclear-free zoning and the importance of nuclear power" and other good articles; alas, "Energy: the relationship of oil and gas to world peace" brings even weirder reasons why dogs can't play the piano and ends in the mystical assurance that the triumph of peace over war depends on moral values whose advent defies rational analysis and explanation.

3.) Common Fallacies on Defense, brochure, free (but contributions welcome) from Defense Education Committee (Ed Kelly), 2565 Quebec, Eugene, OR 97401.
