ECHOES AND UPDATES

Wrong king, wrong king! It was the Persian King Xerxes who had the sea flogged with chains [AtE Mar 90]. Canute merely com-manded its floods to recede, which does not endanger his canonization as patron saint of the Watermelons.

"I enclose a petition from iiFAR (incurably ill For Animal Research, Box 1873, Bridgeview, IL 60455). We need all the names we can muster to counter the effects of the planned march, in May, on Washington, D.C., by animalists groups."

J.W.B., D.D.S., San Antonio, Tex.

Please write to them for petition forms. (I also like the ad by the Fndtn. for Biomedical Resrch., 818 Conn. Ave. NW/#303, Wash., DC 20006, showing a group of frenzied animal-rights protestors under the title "Thanks to animal research, they'll be able to protest 20.8 years longer.")

Attention Freemen! Fort Freedom now has some 640 Freemen registered. but only about 120 of these are active. The others get copied and recopied every day, when they move as AtE subscribers their address has to be changed in the FF file, etc., even though most of them have not visited for many months. So as of March 1990 Freemen will be required to call at least once every three months, or they will be erased from the FF member list.
